Safe Spaces

We want PANAMA to be a place where people of all sexualities and gender identifications feel safe and comfortable so they can focus on having a good time. To ensure safe, inclusive and respectful spaces, we are working toward eliminating all incidents of sexual harassment. When you attend PANAMA, you should be safe from:

  • Being touched without your consent.

  • Unwanted sexual attention. This can be verbal, too.

  • Being followed, having your photo taken without your permission, and indecent exposure.

Our team has been trained to listen and support you. If something or someone makes you feel uncomfortable, no matter how minor it seems, you can speak to any member of the PANAMA crew, and they will work with you, so it doesn’t have to ruin your experience. You can contact PANAMA crew by speaking to our bar staff or any crew member with a radio.

PANAMA is cashless - bring your credit or debit card

PANAMA is a cashless event. To make purchases at the event you’ll need a bank card or your linked mobile phone.

Site Rules

• No BYO alcohol anywhere on site - including the campsite. We are a licensed event, please support the festival. BYO alcohol will be confiscated.

• PANAMA operates under a Total Fire Ban. No personal fires or candles. Gas or fuel stoves for cooking are OK.

• Biodegradable soaps and shampoos only, please.

• No pets, no drumming, and no personal stereos.

• Smokers and vapers, please stick to the smoking areas provided.

• Please do not ever invade a stage. Respect the artists.

• Don’t bring plastic junk or anything that sheds microwaste (e.g.: cheap feather boas, sequined things, bean bags and glow sticks).

• We do not accept caravans, motor homes or camper trailers on the festival site. There are many reasons for this, mainly around the amount of space they require and their maneuverability on the site. Campervans are ok.

TAKE CARE AT PANAMA

PANAMA is not a place for binging with drugs and alcohol. Culturally, we’re a family-friendly event with a focus on art, community and revelling in the beauty of the natural environment.

We have an excellent first aid team and a conscientious site crew ready to respond at all times, but we are located in a rural setting, and emergency care takes some time to attend in cases of need.

So, for your sake and the sake of the event, take it easy at PANAMA. Take into account the setting both culturally and in terms of isolation, and make a plan that's safe. Keep an eye on your mates, stay hydrated and enjoy the event for what it is.

If you need assistance - or are worried about yourself or a friend - contact First Aid immediately.

Accessibility

We are continuing to work on improving accessibility at PANAMA so that people with disabilities can access the event. Click across to our accessibility page Here to learn more about what you can expect at the event and to open a dialogue with organisers about your requirements.

Waste and Recycling

• This is a ZERO WASTE event. You are responsible for your rubbish removal. ‘You ship it in, you ship it out’.

• Food packaging, recycling, and food scrap bins are provided at the event.

• PANAMA has a reusable cup system. We don’t charge a cup deposit - all we ask is that you return your cup to the bar.

Image Description: Graphic of cup with pouring measurements. Wine 150ml, spirit mixers 200ml, beers 450 ml.

• After the event, we will collect all the litter we can find in the campsite and post a photo to social media - hopefully, it will be a photo of nothing at all. We’ve come close a few times - let's make 2025 the year. It’s micro litter that we all have to be careful about - if you want to help - have a good scout around the campsite before you go.

Getting there and on arrival

• The address of the festival is 570 Lone Star Road, Golconda. The site will be signposted from the main road (Golconda Rd/B81). Note: phone reception is limited in this area.

• Beware: Depending on where you're coming from, Google Maps may suggest a route that will take you via narrow, 4WD-only logging roads, some of which are impassible. If you're coming from the South (Launceston or Hobart), ensure your route to Golconda is via the B81 Highway, coming through Lillydale on the way.

•  For those patrons with a Friday inclusive ticket, gates open at 12 noon Friday and close at 7 pm. Light programming starts at 3 pm on Friday.

• For those with a weekend-only pass, gates open at 9 am Saturday and close at 7 pm. The mainstage program kicks off at 12 midday.

• Please note: gate opening times are strict - arrivals will not be accepted after 7 pm.

• The site must be vacated by 12 noon on Monday, the 11th of March.

• Once you have been sited, for safety reasons, you won’t be able to leave and come back again, so make sure you have everything you need.

• Please note: The PANAMA site is limited in size. PANAMA is not the place for elaborate multi-tent and social hangout campsites. Keep it lean as most of the time you’ll want to be where the action is anyway.

• Staying in Launceston longer? The team at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston are friends of the festival and have an offer for PANAMA Patrons needing accommodation in the days either side of the festival. Use this link to access a special offer of 15% off the best available rate.

Important notes for ticket holders

• It is the purchaser's responsibility to make sure each person in their group has their own individual ticket.

• Each ticket has a unique barcode, so make sure that you do not give a copy of the same ticket to more than one person.

• It is essential to bring either a paper or digital copy of each individual ticket (note - phone reception is not reliable on the event site, so you will need to have a copy of your ticket downloaded and saved to your device beforehand).

• There are no gate sales.

Children and families

PANAMA is a music festival (it can be loud at times) but it’s still a great event for children and families. We have a wonderful Kid’s Space with programmed activities (though it’s a BYO adult situation).

What you’ll need

• Tent, bedding and warm clothes. It can get cold at night.

• Wet weather gear.

• Food: There will be a range of foodies on-site, providing coffee and tasty options (including vegan and veggo) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Feel free to bring your own supplies too.

• A reusable water bottle and coffee/tea cup. There will be points on site where you can refill your bottle with Mt. Arthur Spring Water. We do not sell single-use water bottles.

• Hat, sun cream.

• Blankets/rugs to lounge on.

• A torch.

• A yoga mat. Guided morning yoga sessions are programmed during the event.

• Earplugs if you think you might need them.

The Great PANAMA Clothes Swap

It is our pleasure to welcome back The Great PANAMA Clothes Swap.

• To take part, bring along 2-5 valued items for trade at the Great Panama Clothes Swap. Swapping works best when there is a high standard of items to exchange. Quality/cool pieces only. All items must be clean with no faults.

• Drop off your pieces at the lakeside shade on Sunday morning between 10 am and 12 noon and come back for an afternoon rummage. This is your chance to do a little wardrobe clean out and pick up some new beauties in exchange, maybe a new outfit for Hello Darling.

• This event is for shes, hes, theys and children too - get amongst it!

First Aid

If you are unwell with gastro or gastro-like symptoms (vomiting and or diarrhea) or you have been unwell within 48 hours of the festival, we ask that you do not attend the event. Refunds are available in this instance, see our ticketing page for details.

There is a First Aid Hut located on the shore of the dam.

There are ant nests on the site and you could get a sting over the weekend. To prevent our first aid team from getting called to constantly treat these bites please bring along some stingoes and take care with your clothing and footwear on the property. For most people, the stings are painful only briefly.

Liability

We cannot accept responsibility or liability for injury on site under any circumstances. Attendance at this event is at your own risk. Please read full ticketing conditions (available at point of purchase and on your ticket) before attending the event.

 We are PANAMA.
